Law Practice:

National law practice (admitted to practice before the bar in Washington, D.C. and California and the U.S. Supreme Court). Graduate of Hastings College of the Law, 1966, with highest honors, law review, Order of the Coif. Previously a partner with Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott (1967 – 1986) and Siemon, Larsen & Marsh (1986 – 2003).

Specialization:

Land use, natural resources, and the environment, with a major focus/interest in assisting public and private sector clients to develop legal, institutional and collaborative strategies and processes to successfully address unusually complex or sensitive concerns, issues or opportunities (such as those relating to conflicts regarding economic development and environmental and community conservation. Often acting as facilitator/counsel with respect to collaborative processes and strategies, with a breadth of experience that provides a unique spectrum of knowledge regarding, for example: transportation; land use, minerals, oil and gas, water and wildlife (including biodiversity) resources; historic preservation; marine and coastal resources; real estate transactional and lending practices; and environmental regulation (local, state and federal). As a result of this experience, an extensive and good working relationships with administrative agencies and others at the local, state and federal levels, together with an extensive substantive knowledge of the underlying subjects involved.
